Vision Statement

To provide creative learning experiences which inspire excellence and develop confidence.

To promote kindness and friendship as ways of learning to value and serve one another.

Welcome to Langwathby C of E School!

I hope that you will find all the information you require and that our website will help you to get a 'feel' for our big village school.

Our motto and aim at Langwathby C of E School is to 'Bring out the Best in One Another'. Our staff are committed to the provision of enjoyable, creative learning experiences that inspire excellence and develop confident learners. We value and celebrate each individual within our school family and pride ourselves on the provision of a loving, safe and secure environment which promotes well-being and self-esteem so that all our children can be the very best version of themselves.

Our school sits at the centre of a large rural catchment area; we serve many villages and numerous small hamlets whilst only being a short drive from Penrith Town. We take children from Nursery (aged 3) to Year 6 (aged 11) and teach them across 5 classes. The school day runs from 8:50 to 3:30 and our privately run wrap-a-round care, Eden Explorers, offers childcare from 8am to 6pm everyday.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to the arts, using a topic based curriculum to deliver creative, hands-on learning experiences which are relevant, exciting and engaging. The financial support of our pro-active and enthusiastic parental support group (FOLS - Friends of Langwathby School) enables us to provide regular trips, visits and visitor/workshop experiences. For example we have several artists in residence each year and frequent trips to sites of historical and cultural significance.

We recognise the importance of home-school partnerships and value the exceptional support we receive from our parents, grandparents and the wider community. We are dedicated to building and maintaining good relationships with parents/carers for the benefit of our learners.

We are proud to part of the Rural Penrith Cluster- eleven local schools who work closely together to provide excellent primary education across the area.

If you have any further questions or wish to visit school please don't hesitate to contact us on the details above.
