Trail : home / The Arts
Opportunities are provided for a range of creative and cultural experiences both within school and on visits to a variety of venues. These include collaborative opportunities for participation with other arts organisations and local groups, e.g. music tuition within school from different teachers, dance workshops, drama and theatre groups, work with local artists, and extended arts residencies as and when funding can be obtained. Classroom experiences are supported by a range of visits and visitors. Visits are usually local e.g. Tullie House, but some are residential lasting several days.
In addition to the music education that all children receive, there is the opportunity for children to learn to play a range of musical instruments within school at reasonable charges through Mysmart Music (www. mysmartmusic.co.uk). Details are available at the school.
Opportunities are available for all children to take part in drama productions every year. In the spring term older children put on a drama and musical production in the Village Hall.
Every year we host a very successful ‘Art Mart’ to celebrate children’s art work and that of adult amateur and professional artists in Cumbria.
Langwathby CE School is proud that we have been re-awarded our Leading Aspect Award for Art. We are passionate about our children learning, and being able to express themselves, in a creative way. Use the links on the left to enjoy more of our art work.
